I'm an artist and cartoonist based in Brighton, UK. I've also created storyboards for a wide variety of films and advertising campaigns. I've shown my fine art in many both solo and group exhibitions in exhibitions in the UK, Australia, America and Europe and had my illustrations and had my comic work published in a wide variety of publications, including The Times, The Guardian, Stripgids, Polity books and Soaring Penguin Press.

Fine Art

Lately I have been working mostly on paper with chalks, pastels, carbon, pencil and watercolours, although for many years I used to mostly paint with oils on canvas. However I'm currently preparing some designs for some new oil paintings and so I am much looking forward to getting back to painting in oils soon!

Comics and Illustrations

​

​I work mostly with pen, brush and ink for my comics and illustration work. I recently wrote and drew the graphic novella Looking for Love in Brexit Britain and also drew the story Assumptions, written by the poet Hannah Hodgson, for the Soaring Penguin Press anthology Our Time. Last year I had a story, Summer 2020, included in the Tales from the Quarantine anthology from Red Cabin Comics and was also a joint runner up in the Guardian and Faber and Faber’s ‘Graphic short story’ competition; my story August 2014, which can be read on the Guardian website, and created a lot of interest when published. As a consequence, I am now working on my first full length graphic novel.

​I've worked on the feature Halal Daddy and the festival favourite animation Cannibal Story, along with the shorts including the widely acclaimed Into the Surf and Desertion, among other film projects.  I've also worked with advertising agencies including Space City Productions and Kode Media on a variety of campaigns.

​Through having created storyboards for many different kinds of films now, as well as having scripted and illustrated my own stories in my comics work, I have come to develop a strong understanding of storytelling- from script through to storyboard- for a wide variety of film projects, and so whatever your vision is, I can help you to get it on paper.
